Exporail, the Canadian Railway Museum

With a collection of 179 life-size railway vehicles, 8 exhibits on display, and thanks to 130 dedicated volunteers, Exporail is Canada's largest railway museum, just steps from Montreal! A visit to the museum allows you to admire more than 400 railway artifacts and view magnificent archival images on screens. Families can complete their visit with an outdoor ride on the museum's miniature railway, or aboard the passenger train, or in the only authentic 1950s streetcar that was in service in Montreal.

Exhibition of model trains
This year, exhibitors from Quebec and Ontario will come together to present their model trains at Exporail, the Canadian Railway Museum. Just like their engineering counterparts, model makers design miniature networks with structures, rolling stock, buildings and also scenery. Kiosks of equipment vendors will also be offered to the public during their visit.
Event Schedule: Saturday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Railway Ghosts
From October 11 to 27, 2024

Every year, before Halloween, Exporail is invaded by ghosts, skeletons, bats and spiders! But this year, characters have infiltrated certain vehicles to tell you their story! Visitors wander through the atmosphere of a haunted station. This activity will allow families to rediscover the collection from a new angle and children will also be able to take the opportunity to make their Halloween mask at the DIY workshop, inside a specially equipped wagon. After discovering the largest railway collection in Canada, visitors can enhance their visit with a ride on the miniature railway, in the passenger train, or even in the tramway which will also be decorated for the occasion.

***NEW: THE GHOST TRAIN ($)***

In collaboration with Les Fantômes de Montréal, board our ghost train and discover the tragic life and death of a 19th-century railroad worker. Chills guaranteed! This activity is offered for ages 10 and up.
